The Kodi Sonos Addon allows you to interact with your Sonos audio system.

For more information you can have a look at the wiki entry:

Add-on:Sonos

You can install this addon from: URepo

Is this only available for playing songs?

I tried getting it to work with Kodi for playing movies/tv but it didn't work as I expected.

The Sonos addon is a controller for your Sonos kit - it is not something that will forward your Kodi's audio output to the Sonos.

It is designed purely for controlling various aspects of your existing Sonos installation and displaying artist information while your Sonos is playing various tracks.

Thanks

Hey Rob, I only just noticed this addon. Great idea! Be nice to see what's playing on screen. I am going to try this out. Thanks!

Hey Rob

Love this add-on- have been using it for a while very successfully.

However when used with Kodi 17 (RC3) only the "Controller" mode works - the other functions like Music Library just bring up a blank screen. Is this a known issue?

Cheers
Mark

Hi Mark,

Glad you like the addon.

Just pushed a new version to URepo (v100.1.1) so things should start working again with Kodi v17.

Please let me know how you get on.

Thanks
Rob

I've been working a few days on this to try and get the Sonos add on installed. I've tried loading the source for the repo but don't think I'm doing it quite right. I'm fairly new at all this. Is there anyway someone could post step by step instructions with screenshots to get the Sonos add on installed in Kodi krypton 17? Thanks in advance.

Hi Leegundus,

Go to:

Settings -> System Settings -> Addons and enable "Unknown Sources"

Then follow the instructions here:

http://www.urepo.org/install.php

Then go into (From the First screen of Kodi):

Addons -> Download -> .. <- i.e. go up one directory

Then "Install From repository" -> uRepo -> "Program Addons" -> Sonos

The Kodi team have made it very awkward for everyone to install addons that they can not impose influence over ... they've not really done anyone any favours there!

Hope this helps
Rob

That worked! You're awesome man! I was able to get it installed. Now I discovered my Sonos speaker, but I don't see in the settings where I can enter my Sonos account credentials. Where do I configure that?
